Playing hooky

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Thu Feb 07, 2008 8:19 am

Well, sorta.

I don't feel so good today. The damp, rainy/snowy/freezyrainy weather of the last few days has finally taken its toll. Between the sinus nongoodness and the muscle aches, I decided to take a sick day, fire up a big ol' mug of Sugar-Free Hot Cocoa, and duck under a large, warm blanket. I am going to jinx myself for saying this, but as of this moment, I am pretty much caught up on my work (undoubtedly a rare moment of "calm before the storm")...so I figured I could afford to miss a day.

I think the world can run without my help for just this one day...

Besides, Freya the Warrior Princess seems to be happy that I stayed home, if the small purring pile of fur in my lap is any indication..

Thanks. Hot Cocoa, warm blankets, and purry kitties have been known to have amazing recuperative powers.

You need soup, saltines, 7-Up and Popsicles. That's what I fortify my kids with.

I prescribe hot white tea with honey and lemon, a lap throw topped off by feline fur, and Rickie Lee Jones.

... preferably under the lap throw with you.

My mind is not on work today, as you can see.

I don't normally buy saltines, 7-Up and Popsicles, so they are a treat for my kids.

(Hmmmm, maybe that's why Emma stayed home on Tuesday. She ended up eating six Popsicles.....)
