And is there a Victoria's Secret store in the same mall?
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

My son is 25 now, but I used to throw the VS catalogs in the trash on my way in from the mailbox to be sure he didn't see them when he was just a lad.

I would do the same with the A & F catalogs now if I had to. 8)

Don't forget Pat Robertson calls this place home. We haven't gotten to burquahs mandated on the beach (but I bet the give great SPF!), but you can't wear a thong or you'll get a ticket. And they haven't banned smoking in restaurants yet, which is far more dangerous than some poster that gives off some Brokeback Mountain vibe.

And you guys wonder why I travel so much....

I went to the mall yesterday, and not only have the pictures been returned and all charges dropped, they hung the poster with the guys in the window so you don't even have to go into the store to see it! I love the giant FU to the prudes.

It is so totally beyond inocuous, I can't see what the fuss was about. Not even to the level of Plumber Butt.

Do you know how much working out I had to do to get this totally ripped buttcrack? It's a good thing I get 173 personal holidays a year....

Apropos of nothing specifically in this thread, I didn't know that you were in Va Beach, mini. I knew you were in that general vicinity but not there specifically. I was in Norfolk on business a few months ago and my co-worker suggested that I eat at some seafood restaurant (can't remember the name of it) on the beach. It was very good, but my favorite part of the little excursion was walking on the nearly deserted beach at sundown. Also, there was this big statue right off the beach that was a gift from some foreign country. Man, I sure love getting old. That's about all I can remember of the statue, and I'm not sure that's even right. I think it was a statue. No clue of what. No clue from where. Just that it seemed quite unique.

The Norwegian Lady!

I can't think of a specific Beach seafood restaurant (I don't get out much, and we usually go to this place near the Bay named One Fish, Two Fish when we don't take the kids for pizza...) but they just opened a McCormick and Schick's (or however you spell it) in the center of the city, which is like carrying coals to Newcastle. We don't need chain seafood here!

Okay, now I want to know what the statue is.

Well, that was a fast answer!

So what's a Norwegian Lady statue doing at Virginia Beach? That wasn't a center for Scandinavian immigration, so far as I recall.

That didn't sound right so I looked it up. It's King Neptune! Here's a link with photo (for Marley):

I also looked up the seafood restaurant. It's Catch 31. Nice view of the beach and good (if overpriced) food. I wouldn't have eaten there if I wasn't able to expense it!

Thanks. That makes sense, now.

Except why would the Norwegians name one of their ships "Dictator"? :?

So you were up by the Hilton, then. Neptune is new--I haven't seen it yet, but my m-i-l liked to take Demon Child to the Hilton for lunch and sit in the rocking chairs, because they would validate your parking. I'd rather pay to park and eat much more cheaply and better than hotel food, myself!

I'm guessing Neptune's about two years old. The Norwegian Lady is more like history than decoration.
