It's hard to believe this is already Week 6 of the Winter LS, and so our 6th edition of Match Game Monday. The following 12 songs can be divided up into 6 pairs based on some common theme. A couple of warnings about this game. First of all, several of the matches rely on the artist, so beware of cover versions (I tried to choose songs that are only connected famously with one artist, but then again, J.J. Cale and Carl Perkins sometimes say otherwise). Second, there is one song that could theoretically be matched to two different songs, but the songs will all match up correctly only one way, so you have to have the right match to get credit....
1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist, and 1 point for each correct match....
1. When we get crazy
it just ain't right
girl I get lonely too (try to keep your head little girl)
You don't have to worry
just hold on tight (don't get lost in your little world)
'cause I love you
2. I don't know what color your eyes are, baby,
But your hair is long and brown.
Your legs are strong, and you're so, so long.
And you don't come from this town
3. Now now people , you know together we will stand ,
Ev'ry boy , girl , woman and a man
4. Maybe I was the one who left the trace
Was there a message written on my face?
Were my emotions so easily read
That you would know my thoughts before a word was said
5. All across the nation such a strange vibration
People in motion
There's a whole generation with a new explanation
People in motion people in motion
6. He's kind of tall
He's really fine
Some day I hope to make him mine, all mine
And he's neat
And oh so sweet
7. I have a secret to tell
From my electrical well
It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells
8. And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
9. Oh baby, my heart is full of love and desire for you
So come on down and do what you've got to do
You started this fire down in my soul
Now can't you see it's burning, out of control
10. I used to be a heart beating for someone
But the times have changed
The less I say the more my work gets done
11. Hate New York City
It's cold and it's damp
And all the people dressed like monkeys
Let's leave Chicago to the Eskimos
That town's a little too rugged
For you and me, you bad girl
12. Party in the city where the heat is on.
All night on the beach til the break of dawn
