Calvinator -- Sploofus Question

I see that you are slightly ahead of me in this month's Sploofus rankings. Do you know how that works? Based on this scoreboard:
http://www.sploofus.com/leaders.sp?l=6
I assume that we each are 4 for 4 on the daily questions this month, and you have been slightly faster than me. As near as I can tell, each question is worth 1000 points, plus a time bonus, which can be up to 500 points. If that's true, then the theoretical (but unreachable) maximum score after four days should be 6000 points. And if that's true, how the heck did one person (Ggossage) get 6213 points?

I guess if I took this really seriously, I'd have to get a new mouse. I just use a cumbersome pointing device (TrackPoint) that's built into my laptop keyboard.

I know that I have gotten more than 1500 points on a Sploofus QoD before (I think 1683 was my personal best, when I (a) knew the answer immediately on reading, and (b) it was the first choice in the list.

So maybe the time bonus is 750 or 1000, but almost impossible to max out on, unless you're phenomenally fast and/or lucky.

I haven't paid close enough attention to figure out the maximum possible.

Are any of y'all premium members? All of a sudden it won't let me use Wager Tokens unless I become a paying member.

No, I haven't paid anything for Sploofus. I just discovered it last year when I was looking for sites with word games that might help me prepare for Grand Slam. So all I do now is get one question per day by e-mail, which I attempt to answer. I know nothing about wager tokens or any of the other features on the site. Maybe there are ways that I'm not aware of to score more points. It's not a big deal to me, so I've never studied the details. Based on my minimal participation, I rank something like #8000 out of 30,000 registered users. Like NTN, I guess the people with the highest lifetime scores are the ones who play the most.

I've seen Weyoun on the top of the QOD list so he could probably tell us how it works
