Bored docs - hubby related

#1 Post by tlynn78 » Fri Feb 01, 2008 11:39 am

Hubby is out of ICU - yay.

Doc wants to start him on DDAVP nasal spray to keep his kidneys from excreting too much fluid. Doc tells me there are 'zero' side effects. Hubby's condition is such that if there were side effects he would (a) not be aware of them and/or (b) if he noticed, he would not remember to tell me about it/them. Anyone know anything about this hormone?

Never used it and no experience with it. Not my field. But to claim it has "zero side effects" raises alarms for me.

Heck, even water has side effects if you drink too much.

Commercial site so take it for what its worth but has some side effect info. You may already have as much from any package inserts that came with it.

As a hormone it is a bit hard to believe it would have no potential for side effects at all. Few or limited maybe.

That was exactly my reaction. THanks for the links, I'll check them out.

Yeah, at least some of those, I will be able to detect, even if hub doesn't.
