Terri had a rough start yesterday, using all her lifelines on the first three questions. Meredith says it speaks to the difficulty of the game now - randomizing them means you don't know which ones will be the tough ones.

That may be true, but it does seem that contestants grab lifelines early - I haven't done an analysis but it seems that the vast majority of contestants are using at least one lifeilne on the very first question. Of course they don't have the benefit of our transcripts, and knowledge that the difficulty of the question doesn't change from the unrandomized list.
