Freezing rain started coming down just before I woke up and it's predicted to continue until it changes back to rain in mid-afternoon. No way am I trying to drive to work in this, so I'm staying put.

I hope the power stays on.

me too. They closed schools here. we've got about 8 inches of snow, but the problem is the blowing. They can't keep the roads cleared. see ya later. I'm climbing into bed with a good book and then taking a snooze!

How do things look at my house?

Should I have someone come to check later to make sure we have heat?

Looks like the area of mixed precipitation is just moving into Hudson Valley. It's covering the southern tier of NY and almost all of PA right now.

Let's see if this image link works...

It does! Of course, that's a regularly updated map, so it'll look different when people read this later. 8)

Thanks!

I will call Amy and see if she has anything. If she does, we might.

I was sent home at noon today..schools were closed. Our area is getting a long, hefty dose of freezing rain. It was preceded by a couple of inches of snow. They have warned of possible power outages.

Yippee.

Tomorrow, we are s'posed to be hitting 45 degrees, so most of it'll be gone just like that.

I'm sure you did as the news was showing all sort of accidents south of your place. It should all have melted by now though.

A neighbor called us. The Taconic was an ice skating rink. Accidents all over the place.
