Drew Shade
Pasadena, CA
Financial advisor
Drew has a 4-month old daughter, Riley, at home. He got off to a rough start yesterday, using two lifelines on consecutive questions but he rallied and now he's only 4 questions away round 2, and he has $33,500 in his bank. Unfortunately he doesn't have any lifelines remaining.
Topic Tree: (randomized)
6: Toy Animals
3: Permanent Record
1: Food Phrases
7: Baby Count
8: Multi-talented
5: World Championship
10: Mother Tongues
9: Battle Stars
4: Sandy Spots
2: Women's Group
Question #7 (Baby Count - Level 7)
Demographers state that each adult woman in the U.S. must have how many babies on average to maintain a stable population?
A - 0.5
B - 1.2
C - 2.1
D - 3.4
Drew's instict before he saw the answers was
somewhere in the 2s, so 2.1 looks attractive
. But he's just not sure, he doesn't feel confident enough. He doesn't want to go back to Riley with a little amount when he could have had so much more - that wouldn't earn him "Dad of the Year". He decides to walk.
Answer: C (2.1)
Value: unrevealed
Bank: $16,750
[Edited to fix errors]

If he answered six questions yesterday, he's eight questions away from the million.

According to Thursday's transcript, this question was level 7. And really, Drew, if you had the hunch that the answer was "somewhere in the 2s," you couldn't reason it out any further to convince yourself
why that answer would be correct, when the question writers were kind enough to spread out the choices out like this?
