Road Trip

#1 Post by hermillion » Wed Oct 17, 2007 10:36 pm

Fall Break starts tomorrow, and I'm heading to Chicago and other points North. Friday will be Romp Around With Lily Day! Do you think the city can stand two BBs on the loose at one time? There WILL be a trip to the Art Institute to pay homage to Grant Wood's most famous (in our house, anyway) painting. I can turn off the flash on my camera -- what are the chances they'll let me get a photo of myself standing next to the art??

On Saturday I'll be in Eldon, IA, where the locals have recently opened the American Gothic House Welcome Center. Too much fun for any one person to stand.

Watch for photos!

Chicago is the city of the broad shoulders, so I imagine it can handle two BBs painting the town red.

Maybe if you explain why it's such a significant piece of art for you they'll let you do it.[/quote]

Absolutely! There are times when throwing your celebrity around is completely justified! 8)

8th grade teacher help

#4 Post by christie1111 » Thu Oct 18, 2007 6:41 am

When you get back I would like to ask a bored favor.

As some here know, I have been having trouble with my 8th grade son.

Not doing homework, fooling around. What could be described as typical 13 yo boy stuff but is becoming very disruptive in a lot of ways and really has to stop. Now.

Post when you get back and let me know if it would be okay to PM you a couple of question.

Enjoy Chicago and the trip!

This could turn into a BB Fest. Uly is in town, and will join us for lunch. In addition, Snaxx is in the area, and may be able to get away from work long enough to hang out for a while, too.

Chicago seems to be the place to be this week!

I wonder if Uly had been on the USC plane to South Bend

Did he have any bruises on him (or just the usual cat o' nine marks)?

Hermillion, Jac070 (Snaxx), Uly and I had a nice lunch today. We wish you all could been there to share our authentic Chicago deep dish pizza.

The people at Art Institute were very nice and they said as long as we didn't use flash we could take pix of Nancy with the painting. They thought it was cool how Nancy won the money.

Nancy and I bonded walking through the museum, poor John had to listen to us babble. We now think we were separated at birth, we have so many similar interests. . .

Any time anybody wants to visit Chicago, give me a jingle. I love to get together and show off my town! I'll post pix tomorrow.
