#7 - I have no idea what that is or what's in it. Could be hemlock, for all I know ... I don't remember if I have any JTQs left.

#8 - OK, that was easy.

It helps a lot to know that, just as the Kentucky Derby is the Run for the Roses, the Preakness Stakes is the

Another one of my green room peeps - taped after I left.

Interesting little tidbit we learned while hanging out - she and the previous contestant (Vince) graduated from the same high school in New Mexico.

Also since Black-Eyed Susans are not in season when the race is run, they take regular daisies and paint the middle black.

It also helps to remember that the Preakness is in Maryland, and the Black-Eyed Susan is the Maryland State Flower. The Maryland state flag is largely orangey-yellow and black, with a little red and white thrown in (it's a blend of the arms of the Calvert and Arundel families), in a pattern no one can recreate from memory; to a great extent the state 'stuff' is typically things that are orangey-yellow and black, like the state bug (an orangey-black butterfly), the state flower (the black-eyed Susan is actually the really-dark-brown-eyed Susan, but that's no nevermind), the colors of the University of Maryland, etc. And as Bob J. notes, when things do not work this way, they fake it-- they do indeed paint daisies for the Preakness.

There's enough written about all of the Triple Crown races that she should have known this. Especially since the garland that goes around the winning horse's neck is made up of black-eyed susans.

The transcripts for March 2 haven't been posted, yet. All we have are placeholder threads in the Transcript Forum.
