It sure as heck was an additional clue to the question that Meredith provided, above and beyond what was written on the screen. Who said there was any "trick" involved? The guy thought he might be able to narrow down the possibilities based on some partial knowledge, but then Meredith provided additional useful information and said, in effect, "No, don't go with your first thought because your rationale is not valid." I've never seen Meredith or Regis do that before.

Did the guy go with his first instinct anyway? The transcript implies as much, but doesn't say so.

He did go with Brennan. I'll go in and edit the transcript.

I'll add my thoughts as I knew that Warren was the Chief Justice at the time and that others were associate justices (thinking all were on Warren's court) but no memory as to who wrote the decision. I was thinking the Chief Justice would write the fewest opinions due to presiding and delegating (Maybe I'm wrong on this and it would be the opposite with some Chiefs). Of the other three I was surest that Brennan was on Warren's court and would be on the same side as Warren, maybe because I remember him from his later years. So Brennan was my WAG too. Come to think of it, if the contestant was not that old it would explain his only knowing Brennan.

Interesting juxtaposition of employment (though I suppose technically "pig farmer" isn't his secondary occupation as such).

I believe there was a J! question yesterday (as part of the Teen Tournament) that asked who President and Mrs. Lincoln left a party for in order to be at the bedside for. The answer was Willie.

I'd probably JTQ also.

And another contestant makes it to the second round. That's quite a few lately.

It helps when TPTB shuffle episodes out of order for February sweeps.
