No Heat

Nothing like having the heat go off on a day like today.
Thankfully the fire is blazing and the gas guy is now on the way.

Combine cold temperatures that make steel brittle along with gusty winds, and you have a Titanic recipe for disaster.
Could you fix that windmill next?silvercamaro wrote:My triumph for the morning is having thawed out my frozen pipes with a hairdryer.
Lizbit thought it was very strange that I was halfway into the cabinet space beneath the kitchen sink. She kept sneaking up on my feet.
I'll send Lizbit and ES out to work on that.themanintheseersuckersuit wrote:Could you fix that windmill next?silvercamaro wrote:My triumph for the morning is having thawed out my frozen pipes with a hairdryer.

Glad you got it fixed. Don't you have the heat on? Maybe that really nice landlord of yours needs to insulate the wall abit. Or keep the door to that cabinet open a bit.silvercamaro wrote:My triumph for the morning is having thawed out my frozen pipes with a hairdryer.

The heat is on, the cabinet door was open all night, and a substantial drip was left dripping while I slept. More insulation might be nice, but I doubt there's a structure in the entire state that was built to deal with single-digit temperatures that go on for days. I exaggerate only slightly. Our high for today, with full sunshine, is projected to be around 12. We should make it back into the 30s on Saturday.christie1111 wrote:

According to a tv meteorologist, we've had only three storms this wicked in the history of the state. One, I think, was before I was born. The second was the Christmas blizzard of 2009.
I didn't get as much snow as many people, and I can see the sun. I'm not complaining.
