Ouch! A reading comprehension exercise disguised as an arithmetic word problem. I bet Watson would have known this one.

Question 1 -- Wow that's actually a cool bit of trivia! I knew Mars, but I didn't know who the other M was-- Jump the Question!

2 I knew cold.

3 I only knew because I remember Jeff Birt's Million Dollar Question during the Tournament of 10 last year-- asking him about nephelococcygia -- and so I recognized the root.

4 I would've had to ATA as well -- again with the 'real names' question! No clue!

Question 5 I knew because I am a huge fan of the 'correct answer choice,' so I knew that it was them--

E. Kidneys.

At least, that's what I would have thought, 'nephros' meaning 'kidney' in Greek.

1. I think I read this somewhere-or heard it on J!. Easy for me.

2. easy

3. the only thing that makes sense is b. clouds. But would I pull the trigger up there? Hmm, maybe I'd JTQ.

4. easy.

5. I had no idea, so I would ATA. Hopefully they would at least pay attention to the question and READ it before voting. This guy didn't read the question very well.

I know it's certainly the contestant's job to make sure he's paying attention to the question, but I was kind of surprised Meredith didn't suggest he re-read the question or anything. It was obvious he had the right idea, he was just going the wrong way and a little redirection could've helped him out. There was enough time for her to read the important part of the question like she is knows to do.

Poor Rick, done in by misreading the question. As for me I would have had absolutely no idea (except that I could rule out Kenan Thompson) so time to ATA.
