It is on Photobucket, which is blocked on some networks.

I can see it now; I'm on my home laptop, I know it's blocked from work but not here.

That visual actually occurred to me today..... I almost put a set of candles on the piano, and now I wish I had a bust of Beethoven up there....

OK, I have a serious question.......

I got the keyboard in the picture above for Christmas, and have been playing it for anywhere from half an hour to an hour every morning for the past 2 weeks. Spilly seems to be particularly annoyed by my playing, and again this morning came in to voice his complaints with my playing as soon as I turned it on.....

While there was one time I heard him flipping out in the next room while I was playing, most of the seizures he has had have not been while I have had the keyboard on...... but..... there seems to be anecdotal evidence on the internet that shrill noises (i.e., my shitty renditions of repetetive video game music) can trigger seizures in cats.....

Is it possible maybe my playing of the keyboard over the past two weeks has had some kind of a cumulative affect on him, and driven him to seizure madness?

I am looking for opinions from people with cat experience or people who would know stuff like this..... i.e., I'm not looking for opinions via Google.... I am perfectly capable of doing that myself if I totally trusted the shit that's out there on the internet.....

You might have something there. I would think that the electronic pulse might have some effect on the brain. I know that there are warnings for kids playing video games etc, with possible seizures, so if this is on the same timeline as your keyboard, who knows.

That said, probably the worst part is the really bad playing and he is just trying to get you to stop

When you play, does it sound anything like Mary Hart?

I don't know about cats, but I do know that my brother's seizures can be initiated with strobe-like video game or other quickly moving images. Not music as far as I know.

I know I said this in chat the other night, but my newspaper has a vet column where he swears that commerical cat food is to blame for a host of problems. No idea whether or not that is true either. Just wanted to mention it again.

From the collective experience of nine cats, although never more than five at the same time, plus a piano and three different keyboards, I doubt it. My cats always seemed to be rather fascinated and liked to walk on the keys to make their own music. So, maybe Spilly is saying, "Let me play. Let me play!" (Disclaimer: cat hair does not prolong keyboard longevity.)

To be on the safe side, you could experiment with changing the tone or instrument voice that plays on your keyboard, if it has that option, or playing in a lower octave, to see if a change provokes a different reaction -- or indifference -- from the Spillster. Or learning to play a different song.

This probably is of little value but what the heck, I will give my humble opinion. My daughter plays viola and her teacher's two dogs sit the whole time and watch and listen to her play without barking. However, when she has piano lessons, her teacher's dog hates certain songs and howls and complains even after she stops playing the offending song.

I wouldn't be surprised. Kind of how some people have those uncontrollable twitches and spasms over fingernails on a chalkboard.

Get yourself a pair of headphones for when you play the keyboard and see if things settle down.....

I truly don't remember a time in my life when a cat or two or three or four hasn't been in my life, but I don't recall any correlation between their behavior and music.................but then on the other hand, they only pretty much ever got to hear country music and some classical. But speaking from a personal experience, there are levels and combinations of popular music that I've been involuntarily exposed to, that literally make me physically hurt. And I mean to the point that I've felt sick and mentally distressed.

So......you may be on to something.
