Form prevails and all three contestants got stopped by the top item in the unscrambled topic tree. For the previous two contestants it would have helped to remember the top item before they scramble the tree.

One of the questions reminded me of how many photos I have from my travels around the USA and Canada. Sure enough I had two pictures of the hotel the question mentioned, although I did not stay at that place.

Looks like that's built out by the highway, with a bunch of other tourist businesses? I couldn't remember a hotel on the national monument property, but this looks more recent than my last visit in '95.

Here are two articles about Seth's appearance.

The 33-year-old graphic arts coordinator and Buffalo Grove High School graduate went to Las Vegas last August to be tested for “Millionaire.” He passed, and was called in early October and told to be ready for taping in just 13 days.
The first article says he made the Vegas trip into a vacation. I'm glad he didn't go all that way just for a cattle call.
Along with getting picked, Robison discovered the format of “Millionaire” had been changed for its ninth season.
I would think he'd have discovered those changes when the new season started in September, a month before he got The Call.
Robison’s parents, Judie and David Robison of Buffalo Grove, accompanied him to the taping in New York, though only his mother actually got to appear in the audience.
So why couldn't they have shown his dad sitting next to mom?

I believe that a variation of this question was a high $$ question on the original show (asking who the mask was, not what the movie was).

His mother was in the relationship seat and he talked about being a gamer (presumably a computer/video gamer). elwing speculated that he might live in his mother's basement and she was hoping he'd win enough to move out.

I believe that a variation of this question was a high $$ question on the original show (asking who the mask was, not what the movie was).
I happened to trip over this item when curiously going through web.archive.org for the old primetime WWTBAM page.
AUTHOR: Kris
SUBJECT: Talk to the Show (3:18PM PDT, November 28, 2000)

Question: On Sunday, November 26, one of the contestants was about to answer the $500,000 question when the show was interrupted by a news flash. The question was about the 1978 film Halloween and the famous white mask. I'm curious, what was the answer?

The $500,000 question posed to Justin Ray Castillo was, "The killer in the 1978 film Halloween wears a painted white mask of what famous character?" The correct answer was, "Captain Kirk." Thanks for asking. And thanks for watching!
