WWTBAM Bored

Tonight was one of he of the Sparkly Website's episodes.

He's in 41, to the left of the centre board in the second game. The contestant carried over and DiBello's still alive, so you can get a glimpse of him next week. DiBello looks perfect and holier-than-thou. I'm up in 78 and look like I just flew in from New York, hadn't slept in two days and applied my own television makeup.

I'm still working on a bagel thus far. The Smartest Man in America walked away with my money! I liked him though - he was totally nonplussed about the whole experience, what with working out The Theory of Everything in his head while playing.

Damn Barry Manilow question got me in the game with Grandma Nunzie's Crying Bowling Towel last week. Of course I knew the answer to all the other questions. I couldn't console myself with not knowing that Mississippi was the last state to ratify the 14th (or was it the 13th?) amendment. I remembered hearing about it when it happened.

Next week will be just chimptastic. Shiggles will be had by all.

I got WWTBAMNostalgic reading this as it mentions two key figures (M.A.D. and Manilow) that played a part in my September 04 WWTBAMTime.

As for 1 vs. 100, I started watching it again this run and I like the new format. Only change I would make is if the contestant walks away then they should get 0.5 of the money and the mob gets the other half as a penalty. But it does seem better now.

How did they determine contestant #1 was the "Smartest Man in America"? Does he have the highest IQ on record?

And how could they go from a series of creampuffs that only eliminated a handful of mobsters right to that eBay one that eliminated half the mob (and nearly got the One)?

Hmmm.

I miised the smartest man thing.

What i saw, I didn't feel through the TV set the aura I've felt when meeting the truly massively gifted. I think I've met a few. I would have liked to have met Bobby Fischer and Glenn Gould.

Maybe in person, this guy.

I thought she'd gone for sure after that, but she got a softball on the 3rd question to bail her out.

This is the first episode I've watched since the rule changes. I see they 'reward' someone for spilling their help as quickly as possible by providing the question w/o answers and giving them a chance to bail. Previously they did that as a reward when there were fewer than X mobsters remaining. One of the half-spoiled questions was funny, eating beans helps your heart because they make you... and, as expected, the real answers didn't rhyme at all with heart, but could be reasoned out.

They announced that his IQ was 195, making him smarter than Einstein (IQ 150).

Turns out TSMiA wasn't quite so smart after all, although he played a good game. As one might expect, he had to use the mob for several relatively simple questions that a trivia buff would have been able to answer without help.
