Gas prices being what they are he'd better plan on winning the million.

Since "ordnung" is German, Amish makes the most sense.

My first thought was "prison" because you'd want to be able to see all interior parts. Plus there's all those old prison movies.

Well, it depends. "Affected" how - by "spring forward" or "fall back"? Given the choices, though, the answer is obvious.

It is odd that he had trouble with each of the first three questions (and blew his lifelines on them), insofar as they are all things that I would expect a teacher to know off the top of his hand, or at least be able to figure out:

In the first one, 'ordnung' is obviously German, and the Amish are the only German group on the list, so that answer seems obvious and something a teacher could easily figure out.

In the second one, he seems to have excluded the correct answer and been torn between two others. But it would seem obvious that the one place where you would want to be be able to see everything is a prison. And as for one of the ones he was torn between, not only would it be physically impossible to build a luxury hotel where you could see everything from a single spot, but I rather suspect that the guests in a luxury hotel would be rather peeved if it were to occur. This would seem to be basic common sense, and I would like to think that teachers possess that.

In the third one, you are dealing with four very standard high school texts, with which any teacher should be familiar. The audience was not overwhelming in their support (a majority did pick the correct answer, but almost half of them picked the wrong answers), but I would think that teacher would know this.

On the other hand, the pop trivia kinds of things all seem to come easily to whom. Maybe that's what he teaches...
Innocent, naive and whimsical. And somewhat footloose and fancy-free.

FWIW, I believe he was a substitute teacher. I don't know what the rules are in his school system, but around here, anyone with a bachelor's can register as a sub. I don't know what his experience is like.

I remember he was extremely, extremely confident before going on, so maybe he was thrown off by needing to use his lifelines on his first three questions.

I remembered thinking the way he was sucking down the cigarettes on AR that he might not last long. I guess he didn't.
