GW and BD went shopping yesterday. For the MotB outfit, among other things. It is done. My knowledge thus far: it's from Alfred Angelo, it's separates rather than a complete outfit, and GW isn't totally happy with it. I infer the latter from her tone when she told me she'd bought something. BD immediately piped up with "It looks fine, Mom!" My suspicion is that Dior himself could have designed something specifically for GW and she still wouldn't have been completely happy with it. Trust me, she'll look great, whatever it is. I will find out specifics and post the link.
Tomorrow is the start of another search, actually two. The women are travelling to the area of our venue and meeting with a photographer and a florist. Both are on the venue's recommended list, so they are likely pretty good, since the venue's reputation is on the line, too. I will remain home to clean the house (debating whether to tackle the comics in the basement or my side of the closet and the bedroom) and cook dinner for what are likely to be two tired and aggravated ladies.
The ASL interpreter request is on track. The state commission for the deaf and hard of hearing arranges these. My request went in about a week ago, and today they called back, asking for more details. Bride's name. Groom's name. Priest's name (a chaplain, still to be determined). HS's date's name. And so forth. They also gave me details about what is needed from us. Because it's for more than two hours, we'll need two interpreters. If you've ever watched an ASL interpreter, you know it's hard work, but I had forgotten that aspect of trading off every hour or two. The state commission picks up the tab for the first two hours. We pay for the rest. The price per hour is less than I thought, though, so on balance it evens out. So now I have a contact name and number at the commission, and will (hopefully) get the interpreters. One less thing to worry about for the moment.
