I think Amy was dursted by a whole bunch of western movies. I remembered "gee" and "haw" being a pair of commands to draft animals for left and right (though I wasn't sure which was which, before the choices were revealed), but it seems like a lot of actors yell something similar to "haw" to get horses going in the movies, which would seem to validate the "run faster" choice.

Grandpa Jones doesn't know gee from haw, either. 8)

Too bad.

I actually heard the term "haw" used on an episode of "Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman" a kids' show on PBS (it's very educational). The kids went to a dude ranch and learned about horseback riding. They learned to use the commands "gee" and "haw".

Gee, since Amy has a taste for the finer things in life, it's a shame she didn't know "Pony Time," the #1 hit song by Chubby Checker.

It's pony time,get up
Boogety, boogety, boogety shoo

Hey now let's party with the union hall,
It's pony time when ya hear this call,
So get with it,
Don't quit it,
Get up.

Do the pony with your partner,
With a big boss line,
Well anyway ya do it,
You're gonna look real fine,
So get with it,
Don't quit it,
Get up.

Now ya turn to the left when I say gee,
You turn to the right when I say haw,
Now gee, ya ya baby,
Now haw, ya oh baby, oh baby, pretty baby,

Do it baby, oh baby, oh baby,
Boogety, boogety, boogety, boogety shoo.

Gonna see little Suzie, who lives next door,
She's doin' the pony, she's takin' the floor,
Eeea ah, so get with it, don't quit it, come on,
Boogety, boogety,b oogety, boogety shoo.

Do the pony with your pardner,
Oh in a big boss line,
But anyway you do it,
You're gonna look just fine,
So get with, Don't quit it,
Come on. Eeeaaah

Now you turn to the left when I say gee,
You turn to the right when I say haw,
Now gee, ya ya little baby,
Now haw, ya oh baby, oh baby, pretty baby,

Do it baby, oh baby, oh baby,
Boogety, boogety, boogety, boogety shoo.

I just love it when contestants drop in the wrong direction.

NuMillionaire - one of the only quiz shows where you can win money with wrong answers.

I agree that it's kind of lame, but I believe the two biggest game shows on the air also award $1000 for failure. (Wheel and J!)

Oh, I was so focused on writing the transcript that the irony completely passed me by.

I guess I should have said "drops" to $1,000.

I guess she'll have to indulge her tastes in some other way. "Gee" is "turn right", "haw" is "turn left".

Oh, this one I remembered because of an uncharacteristic complaint James posted here, one time.
