They are playing for a local charity, the Children's Hospital Association. It helps defray medical expenses and ensures that children get the finest medical care. Patrick's newborn son had to undergo surgery at one of the association's hospitals.

I seem to recall a previous question about what decade was the Me Decade. I think the audience dursted it.

I thought that was a sign that Megan and Patrick were going to finish their run in this episode, with the help of some ruthless editing. Since they ended up carrying over, it does seem odd that this was the one exception to showing the randomization sequences.

I doubt that Megan and Patrick have watched the show enough to realize how a glimpse of the unrandomized topics can be useful, regardless of whether or not they saw that before it was edited.

I'm not sure why they bothered to do that, since they were probably going to let the two come back on Monday (as was the case).
