Shopping Progress

#1 Post by silvercamaro » Thu Jan 24, 2008 8:28 pm

Thank you, everyone, for your outstanding suggestions. In every case where you linked specific dresses, my thought was "Close, but maybe not for me." I then poked around on each of those sites and found stuff that I liked.

On the Nordstrom's site, I clicked "order" for this one:

A little box popped up that said this particular dress wouldn't be shipped until approximately May 16. Did I still want to complete the order? Well, no.

Then I went to Petite Sophisticates and found several possibilities....

Then at Ann Taylor, I fell in love with this dress and ordered it:

I don't know if it's "the" dress I was looking for, but that's just as well. The store's shipping info says that I shouldn't expect it before Feb. 6, which is too late for the event. It doesn't matter. I will need it for something, sometime, and I can wear it almost year-round.

Okay, so now I'm going back to Petite Sophisticates.

We have an Ann Taylor store here if you want me to see if they have the dress in your size. I'll go by tomorrow if you like.

Thanks for offering, but it's okay. I've already completed the order. I should be notified as soon as it's shipped, and I can track its progress so I won't be waiting at the last minute in hopes that the UPS truck turns down my street. As I said, I know I'll be happy to have this dress for anything that happens in the spring or summer.

A lovely dress.

I particularly like the print.

This is almost as much fun as going through the racks while you are in the dressing room.

I just miss the fashion show aspect of it all.

This is my favorite to date. Not sure if you could do strapless bra, braless or stck-on bra. If you can, I think this would be fabu on you.

This one isn't a petite, and a little 'out there' maybe. One of those I would say "Just try it on - let's see."

I am not hating this. It is a bit fancy and a bit pricey.

Okay - your dressing room is full, your hair is full of static electricity and I am in need of water.

Later!

You have a nice flair for clothes - I think that SC would look good in any of those.

Ask Ellyn, SC. She has purchased several things while shopping with me that she initially looked at and and said " no way would I wear that". You have to be flexible...and things look different on you than hanging on a rack or on a model in a photograph.

ITA, sc would ROCK this dress. Very elegant, yet, sassy at the same time. Perfect for a special event!

Great price too!

I vote for this one!
