Why offer to shave the beard, if it's so important to you, Jay? A suspicious person might think that you artificially played it up, to throw a meaningless bone to the APs.

Oscar Swahn??? Had anyone ever heard of him before this episode? For a question #9 (unrandomized), I'd say this was another WWOQ. And a JTQ for me.

Here's an article about Jay's run. Nice for him that he's originally from Elsewhere, since SyndieBAM appearances aren't news for the Where Else papers.

On my second show I offered to shave my beard for Regis.

I think he was wise - he even commented that he didn't think the audience would know this one. I'd JTQ also.

Assuming that it's not an English translation, "London" is the only one that makes sense; it's also the only one that doesn't use the metric system.

I might have tried ATA first as Jay did, and then my second JTQ. This is certainly a WWOQ and not even near the top of the unrandomized tree.

Question 3 - Avon Lady
A Konsultantka is an Avon Lady who works in what country?
A. Ireland B. Japan
C. Poland D. Egypt
I think this is a terrible question. Konsultantka just means "consultant" in
Spoiler
Polish. Avon Ladies are referred to as konsultantka but so are people who sell Mary Kay cosmetics. And it is also used for business consultants or travel consultants or any other kind of consultant.

I think the "Avon Lady" part is just a red herring. Konsultantka sounds
Spoiler
Polish, not Gaelic, Arabic or Japanese.

Right. It's a
Spoiler
Polish word but it does not mean "Avon Lady" which is what the question is asking. It says "Konsultantka is an Avon Lady...." That is not correct. A konsultantka is a consultant who works in what country? If you say konsultantka to a Polish person they are not going to necessarily think Avon Lady unless you say konsultantka Avon.

How about if they rephrased the question to "An Avon Lady is called a Konsultantka in what country?" Would that pass muster with your, AJ?

Sure. That would be fine. Completely different.

Would it be OK to ask "A mammal is called a horse in what country"? Nope.
Much better to ask "A horse is called a mammal in what country?"
