Question 1-I've heard of the Gaza Strip-not sure where it is, though. ATA (a NYC audience should be up on current events/geography)Question 2-easyQuestion 3-JTQ 1Question 4-JTQ 2
Question 5-I'd walk here-all out of lifelines (I thought it was tuba.)

His next category "Medical Terms" should be right in his wheelhouse since he's a doctor. I bet he gets that one right!

His bantering (and likely audition hook) deserves to be mentioned. Besides being a doctor, Ross knits. He wants to donate some of the money to a charity that trains African women to knit, so that they can support themselves by selling their handiwork.

A rather fine display of geo-nitwitism here. I didn't quite make it to the Gaza strip but knew what it bordered long before I traveled to the region. I rarely do well on what used to be BAM but as a modest oenophile and former horn player ("French" horn is mostly an English speaking world label) I would be 5 for 5 so far.

Cheer, cheer for our Scrabble squad
They fill the board with words that are odd
Adz and xebec, zax and qua
Zarf and quinoa, pix and ka
Jato and furzy, os, ot and ugh
Zygote and baba, yoohoo and vug
They know every word except the one that spells VICTORY!

Rioja does not mean red. The wine
Spoiler
gets its name from La Rioja, a region of Spain. La Rioja is a Spanish contraction of Rio Oja, the Oja River, which flows through the region.

As a dues-paying member of the Scrabble(R) squad, I must object to the inclusion of ot and yoohoo in that poem. Though I have to say, I've played most of those words at one point or another!

While Rioja doesn't mean red (it is roja I believe) it doesn't mean the cast member didn't think it meant red. Which is apparently what he said if the transcriptionist is accurate, something I have no reason to doubt!

He also "knew" Egypt didn't border the Gaza strip.

So he was wrong on both counts but turned out to be wise enough to JTQ each time. Gotta know what you don't know I suppose!
