Just an extra bit of info,
Spoiler
the Scotch brand of adhesives was named supposedly due to a customer complaint that 3M's masking tape was being made too cheaply.
"take this tape back to your stingy Scotch bosses and tell them to put more adhesive on it."


3M responded by creating the Scotch tape brand, first using it for their masking tape and then, more famously, for their clear adhesive tape originally used to seal cellophane.
