A border between Nicaragua and Costa Rica was off by 3,000 meters on Google Maps. This sparked Nicaraguan military commander Eden Pastora to invade Costa Rica and order troops to take down Costa Rican flags in a disputed territory. A Google spokesperson said the source of the error was unknown, but two entire countries have felt its effects.
I predict we'll see this question on SyndieBAM before the end of the season.

I doubt it, as your quote does not contain a question...

Touché, ever watchful seeker of minor flaws.
May I amend my prediction to: "Some aspect of this trivial news story will be incorporated into a SyndieBAM question before the end of the season"?
Most likely they'll give the country names and ask for the website.

Perhaps we'll see it on Jeopardy! then.

I don't seek them. I just happen to notice things...

I guess if your name is Eden Pastora, a military career just comes naturally.

It's the opposite of pushing a Juch.

On occasion, Bob has presented as fact information found on the Interwebs that has turned out to be less than reliable. --Bob

I
did have a suspicion that the whole story might be a fabrication by Microsoft, whose Bing maps were cited as being correct. Has beast found a citation that corrects the one I posted?
And, yes, for the sake of the humor-challenged, I recognize that it's pretty stupid to be blaming an online map site, when the official maps of both nations were reputed to be correct. Did I need to make that explicit with a smiley to avoid beast's accusation?

I'm pretty sure lb's comment was directed at (the actions of) Nicaraguan military commander Eden Pastora, not you, Marley...

OK, I was completely baffled at first by this, but I see now how Marley may have figured that comment was directed at him...
Esto is correct, my post was directed at Napoleon Pastora, even though I'm pretty sure he doesn't read the Bored......

Not so fast on that.....
It is a fact that Napoleon Pastora and myself have never been seen or photographed together. So you just never know....
