Apparently an Irish film maker has discovered a time traveler talking on a cell phone at a 1928 premier of a Chaplin film.
I wonder what kind of reception s/he got in 1928?

If you look carefully you can see her lips moving as she is saying "Can you hear me now?"

No, she's saying "Beam me up, Scotty!"

She's more likely to be saying that than she's likely to be a time traveller.
Because if she's a time traveller...who's she talking to on her cell phone?
8 wasted minutes of my life that I'll never recover.

Well, she'd still be a time traveler; those folks on the Enterprise did that fairly often.

Oh, come on. You know this'll be a question on SyndieBAM in no time!

After 1:30 I gave up. I did not want to waste those 6:30 minutes

There are a bunch of other copies of this on YouTube now, some of which are much shorter (i.e., they leave out all of the guy's commentary and advertising for his film festival).
I'm also seeing comments that say she's carrying something called a "Lutz Ferrando Ear Trumpet", which looks like a reasonable explanation...though not nearly as fun as a time traveler.

I think she's wearing a Casio digital watch too! And she's got a can of Tab in her pocket.

She couldn't get the Tab because she tried to order a Pepsi Free......

I suppose the dead giveaway (besides the title) that this was a nutjob is that he was wearing what appeared to be a 1960s-era Star Trek shirt.
Does he produce these films in his mother's basement, too?

Nah, Doc Brown's garage.

Aha! You didn't watch the whole thing. At one point of his long explanation, he shows that it's a Bruce Lee shirt, both Lee and Chaplin being big inspirations for his work.

So, does anyone here have that set of Chaplin DVDs, to verify the scene for us? How about you, SSS?

The Doctor upgraded Rose Tyler's cell phone to work anywhere, anywhen. I believe she called home to the 2000s while watching the sun go nova.
Hey, if we can have a working time machine, we can have a working cell phone. Just be careful of the radiation from those plutonium batteries!

I believe it is a man in woman's clothing. He is holding his hand in a manner to hide his face. Check out the feet on that dame...
