I'm curious about my readers. The number I can sort of guess at from the count you get on the index page. I was wondering, though, who you are and the split between guys and gals. Would you kindly put a note here to let me know who's reading?

I will consider requests for specific subjects, if you have one. Your comments are always appreciated (well, almost always), and may themselves become subjects for future entries. I'll take whatever help with subjects I can get. I've got at least another 200 days of these to go (Of course, I'll have to report on the Big Event itself. So probably more than 200).

An advance warning - I predict a lack of time to create these once the ignition sequence starts, around Big Day minus 10 and counting. I will take notes and will play catch-up afterwards.

I have read every one.

I would like to know when my comments are not appreciated. That way, I will know where 'your line' is.

I would also be interested in knowing what comments (not mine) you don't appreciate to see if our scale matches.

I am of the gal type, in case you forgot.

Would it be possible to find out more from the POV of the groom's family? While my future, God willing, includes me walking 2 brides down the aisle, I have had much more experience from the groom's side, and I just wonder how things have changed since I did that dance. I know this would require extra effort on your part, and I'm not sure it is even possible, but a quick glimpse behind the other curtain might be enlightening and entertaining.

I read the blog usually when I get around to the Bored.

It has been interesting so far.


I figure that I am probably a solid 18-20 years before I take on my steve Martin role. I may drop several hints about enloping at that time.

I'm here. I read. I admit to being somewhat relieved that my only daughters, all of a four-footed variety, are unlikely to ask me to buy them wedding dresses.

I have read most of them but may have missed a few.

The toilet seat generally stays up in my house...

Which brings up another thought. I know that the ladies bitch and moan about the toilet seat but it always seemed to me it was in their best interest to leave it up. I am quite certain you gals can put it down nearly as easy as I can but if it is generally left up then there is somewhat less risk that it could get "hosed down" on a regular basis.

'Cause most of the time I can do my bidness pretty much whether the seat is up or down. And when I do need it down I have found it is not that difficult a function to perform before planting my backside on the porcelain throne...

And I should think that having to put it down is a small price to pay to have a seat that is not wet and/or sticky. Then the logical thing to do when you are finished is to put it back up again! Because if I am not putting it down it is reasonable to conclude that I am not routinely wiping up any errant spray either.

And I can assure you that the ability to aim precisely is not always a sure thing even if you are really trying hard to do so, as most any guy can attest to.

I am just sayin'...

If "forced" to routinely put the seat down I am of the inclination to put the lid down as well. So no matter what you are going to have to raise or lower something to meet your needs. So might as well leave the seat up and keep it mostly out of harms way!

My only complaint in the past was if I was using the facilities in the middle of the night, and trying to be nice and leave the light off, I would 'fall in' if the lid was left up. It only took a couple of times for me to learn to check. Now I'm just happy when everyone makes it to the general vicinity of the potty in time.

Rhetorical question (unless someone wants to tackle it in another thread so as not to hijack this one): What do men have against sitting down to pee anyway? Problem(s) solved!
