Well, I guess he could find the literal meaning for you.....

Dolce far niente is one of the first phrases I learned in italian, and it's kind of the Italian motto for living.

How sweet to do nothing!

It is also the title of one of my favourite paintings.

No matter what language you select for translation into, it always translates as "scritch".

So that must mean it is "scritch" in ANY language.
