I'd be using a lifeline here - ATA.

Good thing he didn't rely on the audience. Illinois Avenue is a red property and Ventnor Avenue is yellow and both are on the side of the board between Free Parking and Go to Jail. St. James Place is purple and is between Jail/Just Visiting and Free Parking.

Time for my first JTQ. I've never heard of a "Proust" (or a "Marcel").

And here goes my second JTQ (and last lifeline). I would have had no idea.

This would have been a very tough stack for me - too many pop culture questions.

And he said he owns 60 pairs. Meredith had him show off the sneakers he was wearing by putting one foot on top of the Hot Podium. She complimented the sneakers...but they weren't even orange! :P

C: Uranium
I could see plutonium being a serious distractor, but I never expected Jamaal to be leaning towards nitrogen. :?

This link has an image of the actual letter from Einstein. It's true significance, particularly given the date of 1939, was the warning that uranium could be used to create an atomic bomb.

Good thing? Looks like the audience was right and his first jump was arguably wasted. To me the numbers did not seem bad. In general, I would feel confident in any most popular answer if it exceeds the next answer by an amount equal or greater to the range of the three least popular answers. In this case, the amounts are equal, so I'd be inclined to go for it. The numbers clearly show most people do not know the correct answer. If one answer still stands out, there's a very good chance the people who actually know the answer are the reason it does.

Then again if Jamal had saved a jump here, it looks like he might have used it on the hairstyle question, so he still might have walked at the nitrogen question, although with $1500 more in his pocket.

I wonder if all that nitrogen in Sweden might have caused that volcano. :?

Hey, considering how important pop culture questions are becoming this season, who's got time to notice an event that shut down air travel to half of a continent? :P

When I said that I was commenting on his comment - evidently he was expecting the audience to come through with a single obvious choice. The distribution wasn't strong enough to give a definite answer (or even a second-choice strong possibility), so he couldn't "rely" on the audience.

All things considered, this was quite a nice comeback by Jamaal, since he was out of lifelines after Q3. My hat is off to him for this reason.

I just opened up a new window to look for a picture of a Monopoly board, and the main featured story on the Yahoo! home page was this one, including the picture.

It didn't illustrate the colors, but it blew my mind when the first thing I saw on Yahoo! was Monopoly. Yahoo!'s new telepathic search feature kicks Google's butt...
