Most people underestimate how far north Europe is, so I'm not surprised that she thought it was Atlanta. When elwing and I took our cruise to Rome a few years ago we commented on the fact that although we had to fly south to Florida to board the ship, we would end up in the same latitude as Chicago.

Since I would have had the two JTQs available, I'd have used one here. I never saw the movie.

Diana's appearance got a mention in this column:
http://www.philly.com/dailynews/columni ... aire_.html
Zalewski told us yesterday that she hopes to use some of her money to get an adventure-based reality show off the ground. She went on a getaway with her girlfriends after taping "Millionaire" last month and, for fear of losing her money if she spilled the beans, didn't cave into the relentless questioning about how she did, so her friends and family were surprised yesterday.
Oh, she has What Else ambitions!
There was an briefer mention of her run here:

Did you discover a way to get a second run on the show by subtly changing the spelling of your name?

I didn't know the answer, but I did know that Atlanta and LA are at the same latitude (as is my hometown)

Diana was perfect in terms of what level of confidence she needed to answer a question. All her gut answers for the three questions she either jumped or walked were wrong. Three excellent choices saved her some serious money.
She's the fifth of the last seven players to reach neoclassic millionaire, but show has yet to award any top tier prize money. In fact, the show has successfully extracted $64,700 from players' banks at this level without giving away a single penny in return. Ouch.
Diana became the third of three non-celeb contestants to risk answering question 10 while sitting on a JTQ lifeline. Someone is bound to use a jump there soon, but eventually someone is bound to lose a shot at a six figure prize by hanging on to the JTQ and bombing on question 10 and have only $1K to show for it. I hoping it happens on a Jaws or great white question so Meredith can ask
"Why didn't you jump the shark?"

It's a risk to take a gamble on the tenth question, but it brings a big reward. By using the jump to look at the $250K question, she was giving herself an opportunity for great odds and she almost verbalized what they were. Even taking a 1 in 4 guess, she'd have had an expected value of $81,250 ((1/4 * $250,000) + (3/4 * $25,000)) instead of the $61,600 she chose to walk away with.

I didn't see the film, but this scene apparently created a new phrase:
Bunny boiler.
Shockingly, this detailed Wikipedia article fails to mention the name of the bunny.

This question was worth the $250,000 value. I notice many people saying they never saw the movie. Well, I did see the movie (several times) and did not remember the rabbit's name. I think the rabbit's name is mentioned ONCE in the movie, by a child, and just before the audience sees the "untimely end" of the rabbit.

I think the headline writer for the paper needs a lesson from estodude.

The writer of the article wasn't much better. It says, "Diana is the daughter of Eugenia and Walter Zalewski, who died when she was 6." Only her father died.
