Lucky the Black Cat is on the Big Road Again, doot doot doot

Our sweet pusser cat has kicked the bucket. Came home from work and I was going to empty the catbox upstairs since as how the Luck would deposit deposits on the paper around it occasionally.
When I looked over towards the couch and noticed him lying on his side on the floor facing the couch. He doesn't/didn't do that anymore since he was 17 and liked to curl up in a ball on something soft or warm.
He was very stiff and very cool. So, tomorrow I take him in to be cremated.
He was a fine cat, the best cat I've ever had. Loving, resourceful, a snake killer at one time, and he didn't even leave a mess or make us have to put him down.
RIP Lucky the Black Cat November 1990-January 2008

Lucky was indeed lucky to have such good owners. Je was a thoughtful cat, wasn't he?
May Lucky be romping in animal heaven with a few other well loved animals we've been missing around here lately.

I figure he's schmoozing with some felines and canines we all know. Party on the clouds!

Skoop, this is so true. The thought of having to put someone down gives me the heebie jeebies.
NE1-thanks a bunch. He's feeling a lot better, I'm sure. He was very bony and ratty and just hanging on with bailing wire, I think.

So sorry to hear this, Beebs. I hope Lucky has run into my beloved Herbert - they sound like a couple of guys who would enjoy hanging out together.

15+9+(4*16) = 88 human years.
RIP Lucky, at least it was long ride with a smooth finish.

Miss BB, I am very sorry. I would have liked meeting Lucky. At this very moment, I am thinking thoughts into the insides of the eyelids of my angel cat sisters (and Tigger and Ashley, who liked cats a lot) so they can find Lucky and give him the orientation tour and maybe invite him over for some angelic salmon and catnip cookies.
I send warm nuzzles to you and Mr. BB and BB the dog and the BB boys, because you all will miss your friend.

Beebs!
I am sorry that you will no longer enjoy Lucky in 'person'. I know you will enjoy him in your head and in your heart for ever and ever.
Lucky gave you many gifts and you gave him many.

Lucky lived a long and happy life. Everybody should be lucky enough to have a feline friend for 17+ years.

Beebs - sorry for the loss of your sweet kitty. Take some comfort he was at home doing his regular kitty business....that's much nicer.
We lost our Sid almost 2 1/2 years ago and we still still miss his little furry coolness.

That's a nice long life for a good cat. Doesn't make it any better for you that he's not here anymore, but at least he appears to have gone without pain.

Those of us born on Halloween have a special fondness for black cats. The world is a lesser place without Lucky

As a Halloween birthday girl, I agree completely. Although I'm not fluent, I can speak enough black cat to get by and get along. I had two black cat sisters who taught me.

Sorry to hear this.
Lucky cat, lucky family.
I still think about my 2 cats even though they have been gone along time.
They are forever with you.

Lucky still has remnants upstairs which I must clean up at some point. But, he's off doing fun stuff, so all's well. The vet techs were so sweet this morning when I took him in.
"Do you want your towel back?" No. No. You may have it.
