Q 1-easy. I would not have needed a LL here. Benedict Arnold was a traitor (he tried to give the Brits the plans for West Point), and got sent back to England, where he died.Q 2-another easy one.  I don't think the Maytag guy has a name.Q 3-another easy one for me.Q 4-gotta be "White Christmas". Ratite actually means like a raft because these birds have a flat sternum with no keel to which wing muscles can attach. As a consequence ratites cannot fly but that's not what the word means.

Okay, this trivia buff can't take the risk of going for the logical answer, so she ATA's after leading the audience and reminding them of the reason Arnold wouldn't be buried in the USA. And then...29% of the audience still votes for other choices? Weren't they paying attention?

I think this is a classic case of knowing where on the original stack it had been placed would have helped her. If it was in the first 8 questions - I would venture to guess she would have gone for it - put it on the top - and then maybe its a trick question - so under the old game she probably wouldn't have burned a LL (if the initial stack represents the level of difficulty).

Also, anyone get the sense that the audience influenced her to go Final on her last question? To my ears, it sounded like the audience approved of her answer before she said final - as opposed to walking. If she had saved her ATA - I wonder if she would have been Dursted.

Well, she recovered from the first two questions, but had she managed to answer what were relatively simple questions she'd have had more lifelines to deal with this one.

No, I think she was focused on missing out on $25k from question 9, so she decided to gamble in order to win her entire bank.

If she knew going in to question 9 that she was willing to risk it all for the full bank, I think should have gone with her gut on question 9 and jumped question 10 - regardless of what the value of question 9 was ($2k or $25k). I'm sure she didn't know this, but question 10 stayed in position 10 after topic randomization. It still seems to me that the prerandomized topic tree orders the questions by difficulty.

Easy to second guess her after the fact, but that's what the bored is for. I'm sure it's a lot different across the illuminated inverted podium of doom from Meredith.
