Sorry to bombard the recap posts this week, just lots to say.

She had the single most exciting and fun game of Millionaire I've had the pleasure to see in person. Extremely nice, as well. We were all talking about her backstage after the show. She was agonizing over question four for a good 10 or so minutes. Back and forth between Jumping and answering. They really need to start telling the audiences to shut up.

There were people all around me who were just shouting "JUMP!" or groaning very loudly when she said she thought it was A. It was unbelievably annoying to me since I knew it (Thank you, Seinfeld). This goes on all week and it gets a lot worse on a few games later. They did a good job editing it out of this one. Can't wait to see how they do it the rest of the time. They aren't telling the audiences to be any louder than ever or do anything out of the ordinary. There are just a few douches who won't shut the hell up, and it cost her.

Ugh. The first couple questions were easy and then-a WWOQ. I never heard this, so I would jump it.
Then the next question I'd be burning ATA.
I'm just a game show nerd.

Exciting and fun how? Because she had a lot of nervous energy and was fortunate enough to randomly get the two largest values in the first three questions?

The BBTranscriptTeam writes up the transcripts as a vehicle for discussing the episodes. You don't have to apologize for participating in them! :)

I may be mis-remembering, but I recall a recent movie about the Girl with the Pearl Earring, starring Scarlett Johansen.

I actually thought that the population question already had appeared on the show.

The Obama question was pure pop culture, both current and 1990s.

Girl with a Pearl Earring was released in December 2003. A story about the film and its stars, as well as a long, associated story about Vermeer, dominated the front page of the Arts section of the New York Times on the day I arrived in NYC to tape WWTBAM. I read the articles that night to stave off prospective nervousness and "just in case" a Vermeer question might arise the next day when I was in the hot seat.

Yes, that was the daily look back at past upper tier questions, because we're not seeing any new ones question of the day.

I haven't bothered writing these up in the Thursday transcripts. Is there any point in doing so? Is there a demand for them, among our Bored Buddy audience?

I'm pretty sure that neither Johnny Vander Meer nor Bill James was mentioned in that specific issue of the NYTimes. I should send a stern e-mail to the sports editor.

Ha, ha. Maybe Evil Squirrel better watch out - the vagaries of fashion may make him the next big thing.
