Wedding blog - Big Day minus 203

While GW and I watch the Pats beat up on the Chargers, BD is off with one of her bridesmaids, the only one from our hometown. Interesting story there, at least to me. BF2 (I'm gonna need a program to remember which BF is which) was one of her dancing mates during the ElHi years, also a member of the company, the best from all the classes at the studio. One major difference - BF2 was a natural. The best analogy I came up with was that BD was Carl Yastrzemski and BF2 was Ted Williams. Yaz worked hard at his profession, taking batting practice every day, a so-called lunchpail player. He was very good at his job but it always seemed to be work. Teddy Ballgame was better and just made it all look easy. Whether it was or not is incidental; I don't intend to get bogged down in a sports discussion here. The point is that BD worked hard at her dance and got to be very good at it, while BF2 never seemed to work hard and was still better.
There was another natural in the company, who, unfortunately, knew it and acted the part. Prima donna is a fairly accurate description. The Terrell Owens of the studio, if you get my meaning. TO didn't deign to become an assistant at the studio, while BD and BF2 were (this is where BD found her avocation for preschool teaching). Because TO and BF2 were among the best in the company, they tended to hang out together. BD was in the next tier of talent, and although the three were in the same grade, BD got left out of certain things along the way.
Flash forward to sophomore year of college. While home on vacation, she bumps into BF2 during a visit to the studio. Out of range of TO, BF2 is much more friendly than before. They are better friends now than they were through high school, and BF2 has become, well, BF2. Result: bridemaid duty.
You will excuse me now. I need to go find out who the Pats will beat in the Super Bowl.
