This is where the randomization of the dollar values comes into play. In the old days the value might have given you a clue as to the difficulty of the question. My thoughts were either "A" or "B", and I probably would have gone with "B".

"Kiwi" in the name gives this away.

I'm surprised she needed to ATA on this one - it was mentioned several times during the campaign.

He also composed the "You Deserve a Break Today" theme for McDonald's.

This would NOT have been a $10K question in the old days.

Hmmm...is it one mile/three seconds or one mile/5 seconds? Since "3 miles" isn't a choice, go with C (edited to correct typo).

Nihil obstat®.

Straightforward math if you remember that the speed of sound is roughly 700 mph. Or even if you remember than ordinary commercial jets can go around 600 mph without breaking the sound barrier.

A couple of difficult questions but no lifelines needed, so I stand by my statement.

Oh?

Either you made a typo when you wrote that or you chose the wrong answer. As Sprots said, that's an obstat! :P

So in your lexicon, a wrong answer isn't an obstat.
