Lizbit adds to the vet total

Two nights ago, Lizbit ran into or scraped against something in the dark, probably the end of a branch, an ice storm remnant. When she came in, she started swiping at her eye with her paw. Yesterday, the white part of her eye was red, so I vowed to take her to the vet today if it didn't look better. Sure enough, it was worse. The membrane also known as "the inner eyelid" was visible, red, and swollen. I got up early and snagged the vet's first appointment of the morning. The examination revealed no puncture or visible abrasion, so she was prescribed eye drops three times a day for a week.

Inserting the first eye drop required only three people and six hands. From here on, I'm on my own. This will be funny. I anticipate that my week's supply of drops will last about two-and-a-half days, including the amount that will land on her nose, ears, and the floor while she's wiggling around.

For the record, Annie was astonished that anybody would go to the vet without her.

Oh Judy, Judy, Judy, (end channeling)

you poor dear. I'll bet Lizbit is so happy that she decided to live with you. All your four footers have a blessed home.

Dang! I'm glad it wasn't any worse. Good luck with the drops. You'll do fine. She just wanted to act up the first time.

Sheesh! When it rains, etc. etc.

Glad it wasn't as serious as it could've been.

Good luck with the daily "workouts"!

I will have to check the President's Challenge website to see if they have included a category for "wrestling."

Maybe she was doing it for attention, second children sometimes do hurt themselves to get Mommy to notice them. ;)

I hope that Lizbit heals quickly and learns to take her medicine like a good girl.

Good grief doggie!

Don't do that, OK?

Well, now that you did that, may it heal fast.

I'm surprised Oklahoma is not in the top five, maybe next year. (Although it seems you have to be a mean vet to make this list, and by what I've heard there are no mean vets in OK)
