I actually talked to an American, when I called for help with Maddie's iPod.
Her name was Brooke and her husband is serving in Iraq. She lives in Indiana and wants to try out for WWTBAM.

I called Apple too and I got Jenny in Cupertino within like FIVE MINUTES of dialing the number. (I had a simple technical question about my new Mac.)
--dimmzy, who loves her new iMac and would love to use iChat but hates putting on makeup to talk on her computer

At least there's one company with real people.
One of the morning shows last week said you can go to
liveperson.com and it will give you shortcuts to the
menus you get when you call service numbers.
I haven't looked at it yet, but may check it out if I need
to make a service call.

When I call HP to deal with my computer, I talk to somebody in India. I find that they don't speak English as well as they think they do.

Same with me and Dell except when I ordered a replacement battery for my laptop (paid for by Meredith Vieira): I talked to "Casey". Who was in the Philippines...
