Annie Camaro Brownhound, run in peace.

A composer with a love for science, Annie was born approximately Oct. 31, 1996, near Purcell, Okla., with strong sense of survival and a winning smile. Rescued from near-starvation as a tiny puppy, she was thought to be a whippet because of her small size. After several months of regular meals, she grew – a lot – into the long-leggedy, brown-eyed girl who had the ability to make friends wherever she went. While recovering from severe injuries inflicted by a hit-and-run driver in 2005, she taught herself to read by watching Animal Planet and looking at the pages of the National Geographic Atlas of the World, which she called “the Big Book of Maps.” Perhaps more importantly, over a period six months she learned to walk again and discovered the internet. Although not her native language, she became fluent in English, although she never lost the strong accent that sometimes made it difficult for two-footers to understand exactly what she was saying. She made up for that by writing about the subjects and friends that interested her most, both in words and music.

She was a graduate of Home School High School and took on-line classes in physics and modern American poetry from Yale. Her musical creations include an opera, “Guinefort,” about the first dog to become a saint. She was pleased to discover in mid-life that she was a princess, but she never bragged about it. She wasn’t that kind of girl.

She is survived by her mom; a younger sister, Lizbit; and a younger brother, Rusty, from whom she became estranged under mysterious circumstances. She would wish to note a special friend and confidante, Evil Squirrel, who lived in a tree in her back yard. At the Rainbow Bridge, she joins an array of older canine and feline siblings: Tigger, Ashley, Irish, Sammy, Oreo, Binky, Blackie, and others who preceded her in death. Refreshments will be served, including an unlimited supply of her favorite treat, pizza bones.

I don't see an emoticon with tears streaming down the face. I guess my own will have to do.

I am so sorry, Judy.

She has sisters and brothers and friends galore to scoop her up, thank God. I am so sorry, Judy.

Do you suppose she'll start auditioning everyone up there? Would the opera be finished up there? I think possibly so.

Its unseemly for a grown man to tear up at his desk, so be it. Goodbye to my birthday buddy.

I am sorry to hear of her passing. She fought very hard in her life, and her determination has made others here, at least myself, not give up on things. She made the bored an interesting place and will be missed.

A tribute that was lovely, simple and touching. Annie was that kind of girl.

Judy I'm so sorry. Right now it's raining like crazy and it fits how I feel. Like Sprots said, "I'll miss you like no one else I've never met." You made her so one of us - that was a very precious gift for you to share. Hugs to you. I imagine she's turning a few peeps on their ears and making some changes over the bridge...starting with mandatory voice lessons so she can scope out the talent to complete her opera.. I'll miss her so much.

Dammit, I told myself not to click on this thread. Why don't I ever listen?

I didn't really get to know Annie, but I know she was lovely. Look up my old Gus on the other side. He's no match for you intellectually, but he's a big sweet goofball who'll enjoy running around with you.

Oh, Judy, I'm so sorry to read of Annie's passing. She was a sweet, loving gal who endeared herself to everyone she met -- whether in person or online. I'll miss her bored missives. Please pass on our sympathy and scritches to Lizbit.

This is one post that I had hoped would never have to be posted. This bored won't be the same without Annie.

RIP to the smartest dog I have ever met on the Internet.

Not being a dog lover, I actually shared a bed with Annie and she and I bonded nicely.
She knew that I wouldn't mind and since I was in her bed after all, it just made sense
that she join me.

It won't be the same around here without here, nor will my visits to Norman ever be
the same. Hugs to you, Judy. I know you're hurting, sweetie.

I dint want to open this thread, but I must make my tribute to Miss Annie Camaro.

She epitomized, to me, what strength and love should be, whether you are two footed or four footed.

May she have a wonderful new life over the rainbow, with all her brothers and sisters.

Judy, you were truly blessed to have her in your live, and she to have you. God bless you both, and keep you smiling with wonderful memories.
