As of a couple of days ago, my mother and her husband are officially divorced. So he's now free to be with his little Wal-Mart whore. I'll be moving back with my mother within the next few weeks.

I'm sorry your mom had to go through this, but now she can make a fresh start. For the future, you might advise her to date only men who shop at Target.

That was a quick divorce.

Good riddance to the husband. He and the Wal-Mart whore deserve each other. She will probably move on with somebody else's husband anyway, then he will be all alone.

Yet another reason to avoid the Wal of Mart.

That place is ooky. The only thing I buy in there are diapers and formula and when I do I get in and get the hell out. The produce section gives me the willies. Sorry lb, I'm sure your Wal of Mart is pristine.

I love Target. Love it. My biggest problem is that I go to Target needing only a few things and come out with much more than I needed. I get my Starbucks and put it in my handy dandy cup holder and spend waaaaaay too much time "shopping". Yesterday, I went in there for a list of about 8 things and came out with like 25. D'oh!! Of course, this has nothing to do with Target. I have no freaking self control. I guess it's better to have no self control at Target than no self control at Bergdorf's. BTW, I got the girls the cutest Valentine's day shirts. Olivia got these fabu pants with ruffles on the butt.

But I digress...WalMart blows and so do their ho-bags.

I love Target as well. They have nice stuff.

My friend Judy always says that the toothless people are imported from Riverside County to work at the local Wal-Mart. I've gone the store a few times, but it always seems dirty to me.

Nelly - I hope your mom can quickly reach the "I'm better off without him" point, if she hasn't already. You're a good son.

You are a good son. She needs all the support she can get right now.

I agree, her EX will get his dues soon enough.

Good (?) news for NellyMom.

When I was in private practice, I inherited a client from one of my partners. It was a divorce case (I did not like divorce cases, I had a partner who loved them, but he didn't like this one). My client was a pilot who (his wife alleged) was having an affair with 'some bitch in Atlanta.' He denied it-- under oath-- and pointed out that his airline did not even fly to Atlanta, so how in the world could he possibly have an affair with anyone who lived there??? Well. We eventually got the divorce, and 31 days later (divorces in Maryland are final after 30 days) Pilot Ken married 'some bitch in Atlanta,' whose own divorce had become final during that 30 day period (I later learned that airlines have, or at that time had, arrangements with each other so that their employees could fly standby on each other's planes for free; Pilot Ken flew a route between Dulles and Denver, and after arriving in Denver, he would return home on Delta via a short layover [heh heh] in Atlanta; I learned this from my dentist, who turned out to be a hunting partner of my client).

Part of the divorce involved my client buying out his wife's interest in their house ('marital property' under Maryland law), and he paid her cash for it, and then immediately turned around and gave a half-interest in the house to 'some bitch in Atlanta,' who by this time had moved to Maryland to teach in the local high school. And who, six months later, was boinking one of her fellow (married) teachers. So my firm ended up handling Pilot Ken's s second divorce in less than twelve months... in which he ended up (as required under Maryland law at that time) having to pay her for her half-interest in the house (the self-same half-interest that he had just given her).

Ken: How the heck did this happen? Who woulda thunk she would do something like that???

Me: Ken... When you started banging her, she was a married woman who was banging another woman's husband. Why are you surprised that, after she married you, she would turn out to be... a married woman who would bang another woman's husband?

Ken: But... But... But...

Me: (sotto voce) Butthead.

This sounds very much like my friend who's a FedEx pilot. At least the new woman was in the same city he lived in. After paying all four party's divorce lawyers, he found the new wife was a nut case so divorced her a couple of years later. Good thing he makes $250,000 a year.
