Today's QOD:

Jeopardy Round: "A Bob Dylan Songbook" (yeah, I know there's also a LS thing here, but where I wrote these boards, there isn't, so deal with it)

$200 - How many roads must a man walk down
Before you can call him a man

$400 - You used to be so amused
At Napoleon-in-Rags and the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse
When you ain't got nothing, you go nothing to lose

$600 - I was standin' on the side of the road
Rain fallin' on my shoes
Headin' off for the east coast
Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through

$800 - I'm ready to go anywhere; I'm ready for to fade
Into my own parade, cast your dancin' spell my way
I promise to go under it

$1000 - "I didn't do it," he says and he throws up his hands
"I was only robbin' the register, I hope you understand"

Double Jeopardy Round: "Four Sides" (Be careful not to get too specific)

$200 - generic term for a four-sided polygon

$400 - A four-sided polygon with four right angles

$600 - If you have four sides with your Carver sandwich at this McDonalds-owned chain, you may well get sick

$800 - Four-sided polygon with all sides the same length

$1000 - A four-sided regular solid

Coming soon: doubling up - 2 Jeopardy and 2 DJ rounds starting Monday

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Spoiler
Jeopardy Round: "A Bob Dylan Songbook" (yeah, I know there's also a LS thing here, but where I wrote these boards, there isn't, so deal with it)

$200 - How many roads must a man walk down
Before you can call him a man -- Blowin' in the Wind

$400 - You used to be so amused
At Napoleon-in-Rags and the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse
When you ain't got nothing, you go nothing to lose -- Like a Rolling Stone (I just put the finishing touches on a book by Al Kooper, who talked his way into playing organ on this song)

$600 - I was standin' on the side of the road
Rain fallin' on my shoes
Headin' off for the east coast
Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through -- pass

$800 - I'm ready to go anywhere; I'm ready for to fade
Into my own parade, cast your dancin' spell my way
I promise to go under it -- pass

$1000 - "I didn't do it," he says and he throws up his hands
"I was only robbin' the register, I hope you understand" -- pass

Double Jeopardy Round: "Four Sides" (Be careful not to get too specific)

$200 - generic term for a four-sided polygon -- tetragon?

$400 - A four-sided polygon with four right angles-- rectangle

$600 - If you have four sides with your Carver sandwich at this McDonalds-owned chain, you may well get sick -- Boston Market

$800 - Four-sided polygon with all sides the same length -- rhombus?

$1000 - A four-sided regular solid -- pass
