She was visiting a friend on Molokai and broke her pelvis. She is young ( 68 ) and it is a stable fracture. But the fact that she was on Molokai does complicate things. Esp. for Swampyturtles.

Happy thoughts for a quick recovery and move back to Oahu, would be greatly appreciated.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Ouch. At least she is in a nice warm place while she recovers.

I think there is only one florist on Molokai that delivers to the hospital. They didn't answer yet.

I hope I can get Mom1111 some flowers today to cheer her up.

What's done for a broken pelvis anyway? Will she be immobile for a while?

I don't know yet. When I called she was grouchy. I don't think the pain meds had kicked in yet. :-)

And she is going through CNN withdrawal. She usually has it on 24/7 at home.

But I got a florist who says they will get flowers there today.

I hope so!

Good luck on recovery.

(The thought of an immobilized pelvis would make anybody grouchy.)

Glad to hear she is doing well. Because having been to Molokai recently I can say with some confidence it is not a good place to go and break anything!

Not there is ever really a "good" place to break something. Just less bad...
