I missed today's show-this would have made me yell at the TV.
Doesn't anybody study geography anymore? We've seen way too many geo-nitwits on this show.

Kazoo's comment reminded me of what happened afterward; Mere asked the next contestant (Devin) if he knew the state question and Devin said no. Mere said she did not know it either. Mere said just because she is the host everyone thinks she knows the answers, but she doesn't, and that is why she is stone-faced.
The clock might have been a factor for me as I immediately thought Michigan had to border at least 3 states, but then thought that the FL panhandle might border MS as well as AL and GA (no for MS) and was still sorting MI v FL when the contestant blurted out WA.

I had the right answer, but having more than 7 1/2 seconds per state to picture their borders would have helped some contestants.

She mentioned that her friends shone a spotlight in her face to get her used to the studio lights.

Alex probably should have thought about this a little longer. WA is bounded by OR and ID; RI is bounded by MA and CT and FL is bounded by AL and GA.

I'm curious about Alex's "are you serious?" reaction after Mere told her she was wrong. Was she convinced Washington was the correct answer? If so, which three or more states did she think it bordered? Or might this have been a case of misspeaking and then realizing her mistake? She said something like "can we do this over?" as Mere dismissed her.
