$25K-I'd use DD and choose A and B. I've never heard of the brain going through a phase while exercising or public speaking.

Going to Greek once again, cephalic comes from the Greek word for head. Unfortunately, that doesn't make this question a slam dunk for me because it leaves two logical possibilities: A and D. So I will Double Dip.

"Cephalic" would suggest something related to the brain or head, but that doesn't really help. I'm certain the expert won't help, and I can't narrow it down enough for the DD, so I'd walk. My guess would have been "going to sleep".

Sleep concerns just the brain, not the whole head.

I looked up cephalic phase, and it turns out that the term is a misnomer. Despite the Greek root, the head is not even involved in it. The cephalic phase is when the stomach produces gastric acid for food digestion before a person even eats anything. So in hindsight, I got lucky because my knowing that "kephale" meant "head" was completely irrelevant to the cephalic phase.

If anything, this question proved that despite my grasp of Greek and Latin roots, I could still potentially get caught in one of the question writers' traps.
