B4 Team-The List

#1 Post by Bixby17 » Mon Jan 14, 2008 1:44 pm

Week 249

New week, whatya going to pledge to do for yourself that is a nice thing to do?

I'm resolving to not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. I'm trying to make sure that I get some physical exercise every day, even if it isn't a perfect workout, and trying to maximize the nutritional content of the foods I eat.

I actually did fairly well last week so my goal is to keep it up this week. elwing has reminded me that I've got to be in shape for the two cruises we have scheduled for the summer so we're starting to be more observant in what we eat.

I did pretty well food wise last week so I want to keep that going.

Elliptical time is still not what it should be so that is this weeks goal.

I did pretty good on the eating last week, skipping bagels in the office and desserts at home. This week, I'll keep up the morning walks. It was lots of fun this morning at 23 degrees, but the rest of the week should be much easier.

I am going to hook up this contraption that arrived last week, and use it while watching movies:

Yikes. Walgreens price is way more than I paid ($40 from sportsmansguide).

I have been doing so good that I'm just going to keep on doing it.

My mom took me back to the hospit..., I mean hotel...today. The doctor said I was beautiful and my back was beautiful, too. I thought I'd have to stay there, but I was so beautiful that I didn't! Then, my mom thought she'd have to drive me back tomorrow and the next day and every day, but the doctor said I looked so good that I didn't have to come back until Thursday, and then twice a week until I was so ravishingly attractive that I could wait two weeks between visits.

Those people up there are very nice to me, and I like them, but I will like them best when I only see them once in a while. I may miss that great food every day, though.

Annie! Good girl! I'm so happy you're feeling better, and get to (mostly) stay home! Keep up the good work, and give your mom a nudge for me.

Annie, that is excellent news that you only have to visit now and then, not stay.

Good news, Annie. Sounds like you and your mom have been following the doctor's orders.

This week has got to be better than last week. I did shopping today for good, nutritious food for me this week. I will walk at least 5 times this week.

I will retrieve my exercise ball from the basement and make time to do my back exercises. You are not supposed to know your back is there through feeling it. It's meant to be taken for granted.

I will eat a bit less and a bit healthier, to get back down to 210 and below. The holidays were not kind to my scale numbers.

Glad to hear that our favorite four-footed BB is doing so well.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Well, now that the eggnog is gone, and the peppermint stick ice cream is gone, and I've finished all of the Christmas cookies, all I have to do is stop making the detour by the bakery on my way home from the gym each day, and I'll be set.

I'm holding. Still not smoking, yay. I guess I should either go with a new icon or edit the butt out of my lego pic, eh?

My big challenge this week is that the significant other was diagnosed with diabetes last week, and as the chief cook and bottlewasher, I am pretty much in charge of managing carbs and sugar and not putting bad food on the table, at least in the house. Getting a sugar fiend on a low-carb diet is not a fun project.

I'm of mixed opinions on it, I eat a pretty balanced diet and I'm happy enough with my weight, but in order to set a good example and not tempt him, my supply of treats also got cut off since I really can't keep that stuff in the house anymore. *sigh*

I'm leaving on vacation on Friday (going to do this: www.therockboat.com ) so my goal is to enjoy without going overboard (not literally!). I usually do okay on cruises foodwise anyway, I'm a grazer by nature so I tend not to overindulge, but the variety makes my fickle tastebuds happy. I'm going to relax, hear some good music, and be unplugged for 7 days.

Thanks Annie! It's going to be a blast. I am mostly going to see Glen Phillips and Toad The Wet Sprocket, but I like a lot of the other artists too. I'm going to see how many concerts I can go to in five days. :)
