Winter has indeed returned to the Ohio valley, with temps in the 30s and possible snow flurries (which means that there has been/will be a run on the grocery stores to stock up on milk and bread).

Yesterday morning they predicted a lot of snow for us. As the day went along, the predictions kept dropping.

We got a bout an inch and school was merely delayed.

Kids were bummed!

You got an inch of snow, and they delayed school???

Was there some ice as well?

About a month ago, the forecasters were doing their "doom & gloom" forecast of ice, snow, impending glaciers, you name it, so people here ran out to get provisions. The grocery store checkers apparently enjoyed laughing at the customers (behind their backs).

I think it had more to do with the fact that they were predicting a foot yesterday morning.

Still enough uncertainty to delay. And many inland areas got quite a bit more. A bit trickier to predict at the coast.
