John says he knows it's not Argentina because that is the Casa Rosada, or "Pink House". He's inclined to go with
Steve's other guess. Steve then says that since he has the chance he wants to tell John that he's read the book over John's right shoulder. John encourages him to read the book over his left shoulder next time. [Transcriptionist's note - the titles were too blurry to be legible.]

Has "travel" become an acceptable answer to that interview question, now?

The expert has been hit-or-miss, not what I expected from John.

Gutsy move, Steve. As for me, I'd probably have used ATE and hoped that John knew as much as everyone thinks he does. If he doesn't give me a clear confident answer (or at least narrow it down to two) I'd walk away.

Had I managed to get to this question, it would have been a no-brainer. Thirty years of Dungeons and Dragons turns out to be good for something - the original Monster Manual featured androsphynxes, gynosphynxes and criosphynxes (head of a man, a woman and a ram, respectively).

Wow, what a dream pair of high-level questions for me. Two words with Greek etymologies. As the contestant correctly pointed out, "angi-" means blood vessel. And I knew that "krios" is the Greek word for ram.

Nihil obstat® and going for $250K with all lifelines.

A few years back, Mrs. SSS and I went to see a French movie, A Very Long Engagement. Jody had a supporting but reasonably substantial role in the film and spoke her lines in French. You could tell it was her by her accent, but she handled the lines quite well.
