Scrabble Fans - Shall we Play a Game?

Do you like to play Scrabble? I used to play with my mother many years ago. In fact she taught me how to play and this inspired my first quest for word knowledge. From there I went on to do crossword puzzles and other such wordbuilders.

Anyway, there is an online version of the game called Scrabulous and it can be found at:

http://apps.facebook.com/scrabulous/ (if you have a facebook account)

or directly at:

http://www.scrabulous.com/

I have accounts at both sites. If you'd like to play, just sign up and send me an invitation to play. I use my galahad2k at gmail.com address.

Sirgy,

If you like word games, Babble is one I found on line and enjoyed for a long time (before it became blocked at work!) Fun, enlightening, and confounding. What more could you want?

Thanks, t. I have always enjoyed playing Scrabble and was just curious if anyone else would like to play. Guess not. ;(

I've been away from the Bored a couple of days, so I missed your post.

I've just registered as plasticene on Scrabulous, but I'm not sure Scrabulous is long for this world, as Hasbro is reportedly trying to shut it down.

I play online at the Internet Scrabble Club (http://www.isc.ro). It's not as convenient as Scrabulous, I guess, because you have to download software to play it, but many of the top tournament Scrabble players play there.

I also recommend that you try a live Scrabble club. I've been attending clubs and tournaments since last September, and it's incredibly fun. You live in Greeneville, right? Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a club there, but there is one about an hour away in Asheville. It meets on Sundays at 1:00 pm at the Books-A-Million on Tunnel Road.

I signed up but don't want to play at work.

I'll try later.

Don't be impatient with us SirG!

Jeff loves to play, but has been working lately.

I love to play, as well. No one in my family/friends will play with me 'live' and since I'm only online at work and can't access game sites, I'm out of luck.

My husband through my last Scrabble game in the fireplace years ago. He challenged me on a word and lost. What was he thinking?

This Scrabble program was featured on Sunday's episode of 60 Minutes, in the segment about Facebook and its founder.

I play QWERTY on Club Pogo instead.

(Kinda boring for my 500th post on the Raspberry Bored®, but oh well.)

I used to like Literati on Yahoo, but QWERTY bugs the crap out of me. I don't like to play with people in most games because they take too long, but even the robots take forever in this one. I think it's also the animation slowing it down that makes me antsy.

They destroyed my favourite game (Turbo 21) when they redid it with all the animations, now I can't even stand to play it.

I'm going to have to try out several of these choices. Lately, though, I've been hitting "Pat Sajak's Trivia Gems" on the Zone (http://zone.msn.com). But I don't get to play much.

In fact, I've been getting emails from my J! friends wondering where the hell I am.

I think that Word Whomp was the first online computer game that I got hooked on (Soozin turned me onto it on boxerjam). Then I found it on Pogo, but Turbo 21 soon won my heart and I would play it for hours on end. So, by the time Pogo redid WW with ranks and stuff I was already burned out on it.

My alltime fave was Roof Rats on flipside, but I've never been able to find it again since they went belly up.

I also play pogo's Word Whomp.

I reviewed a new game last night you word folks will all want, except I don't know yet if it's Mac-only but how likely is that? I'll put a link to the review here once it's published. It's called Flip Words 2. I think $20 but I haven't researched the specs yet, only played the game and taken screenshots.

It's a combination of Boggle and hangman. Very addictive.
