So John knows obscure Russian poets but he gets stumped on a fairly simple vocabulary question? I've never heard the term applied to two circles touching but when I was young I attempted to use big words when simple ones would suffice, so "osculation" was my term for "kissing".

I remember it from a W.C. Fields movie. Maybe it was in My Little Chickadee with Mae West.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

IIRC, John amended his DD recommendation from "A and B" to "A and D". But then he couldn't resist a joke and said something about wanting to "prolate or tessellate" Lois, thereby reinforcing the A and B selection in her mind.
