Dad just got out of surgery about half an hour ago. Everything went well; he's in the recovery room now and should be moved up to his room in the next hour.
Visually, there's no sign of the cancer spreading. We have to wait for the pathology report to confirm that.
Positive vibage coming atcha!

Just a short note to let Marley know we are thinking about him and his family and to bump this up.
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Just a quick drive-by update...
The plan is for Dad to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow, then he'll be going to a rehab center for a couple days or so. He's feeling pretty good today--with his own brand of grumbles.
Still no word on the pathology report, but we're crossing our fingers that the initial visual inspection was correct and that they've got it all.
