Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Jesus Was a Capricorn. I also accepted "They Killed Him" though I'm not sure how it ties in with astrology/horoscopes.

$1000 - This magician/skeptic once gave the same "horoscope reading" to an entire roomful of people and asked those who thought it accurately reflected them to raise their hands. (Of course everyone raised a hand)

Mormonism. I gave people LDS, so clearly I was looking for something other than "Latter Day Saints". In general, if I just want people to tell me what an acronym stands for, I'll ask that specifically. My understanding is that Mormonism is the religion, while LDS is a specific organized, um, something bigger than denomination, but smaller than religion, within it. I think there's sets of renegades who consider themselves Mormons but not part of LDS. At least that's how I understand it. In the same way, I'd consider Christianity a religion, and Catholicism a similar subset - bigger than a denomination, smaller than a religion.

That said, I accepted Latter Day Saints as a correct answer.

Birthday. I accepted "birth month" reluctantly.
Why would "sun sign" not be correct? They are divided up by sun signs, which are determined by the day and month of your birth. Although I suppose for $200 value I should have gone with the simplest answer, I did add the day and month part.

I don't care about the score and don't even want it to be changed (seriously, I don't). It just bugs me to appear to be wrong about this, since I used to do astrological charts for people.

I'm pretty sure I marked you right and just forgot to mention that I accepted "sun sign" as a correct answer. But maybe I forgot to give you the points. But I definitely meant to give them to you.

Yay! I thought I was 400 short and that it must have been because of this, but I could have added wrong (I'm much better at math when it's figuring out planet alignments. Ha!)

Ha. You were 400 short, but not because of that. I marked your answer of Mormons as a correct 400 answer instead of 800. When I post the scores with today's QOD you'll have your correct score.

Sorry.
